About the Author
Theophilus Monroe is a fantasy author with a knack for real-life characters whose supernatural experiences speak to the pangs of ordinary life. After earning his Ph.D. in Theology, he decided that academic treatises that no one will read (beyond other academics) was a dull way to spend his life. So, he began using his background in religious studies to create new worlds and forms of magic–informed by religious myths, ancient and modern–that would intrigue readers, inspire imaginations, and speak to real-world problems in fantastical ways. When Theophilus isn’t exploring one of his fantasy lands, he is probably playing with one of his three sons, or pumping iron in his home gym, which is currently located in a 40-foot shipping container.

About the stories
Mercy Brown might be the most popular character in my universe. She has her wounds. She has a dark side (don't we all?). Sometimes she even gives in to it. Half of the battle is within!
When push comes to shove, though, she (usually) does the right thing. Not even a vampire is beyond redemption.
I've been a fan of vampire stories as long as I can remember. Ever since I picked up my first Anne Rice novel as a teenager. Even today, when I see a new vampire book, or a new vampire story on television, I can't help myself. I'm "sucked" in (pun intended) immediately.
This isn't a sappy vampire romance--but there are certainly vampires, and definitely romance. It's a little edgier, a little darker, and more action-driven than Twilight or The Vampire Diaries. But if you enjoy suspenseful vampire stories with lots of action, and complex romance sub-plots, this is a series I think you'll enjoy.
